Before applying for a loan, you shoul obtain credit reports from all 3 credit reporting agencies.
Experian, Equifax and TransUnion™
We suggest using Identity IQ https://www.identityiq.com/
You need to obtain your FICO scores.
From many types of loans, you will need a miniumum FICO score of at least 620.
